Shirin Skifstad, Titan Central manager, has been named recipient of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh November 2012 STAR Award.

Skifstad was nominated by Matt Suwalski. Portions of her nomination follow:

“Since she began working, Shirin has done a great job of going above and beyond her position to form strong working relationships with colleagues across campus. Most notable, during Odyssey when we invite incoming students to campus Shirin was exceptional at answering question and helping Titan Central facilitate a new process this year to add a second camera station providing better service to our students. Because of the time requirements this was a large task and Shirin handled it perfectly.

“Debbie Gray Patton provided this support: “Shirin was an incredible addition to Odyssey. She made several changes that made the day start even more smoothly. She was always a helpful, problem-solver from the moment she arrived until she left, some 10+ hours later. She’s always thinking about what is in the best interests of the students and their guests. It’s always nice to work with someone who is always proactively looking at making things better.”

“Overall, it’s Shirin positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to find the right answers for students and parents that sets her apart. Although she is still a new addition to campus she has fit right in with her strong work ethic and customer service. I have continued to receive compliments from parents and colleagues that she has worked with demonstrating her ability to get the job done and done right.”
The CSAC Awards & Recognition Committee submitted this announcement. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
