Sam Yates, a former University of Wisconsin Oshkosh professor, will participate in a Visiting Artist Lecture in room S149 of the Arts and Communication Building from 4:50 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18.

Yates, currently the Director of the Ewing Gallery of Art & Architecture at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, is visiting campus in connection with “Redefining The Multiple: 13 Japanese Printmakers,” an exhibit on display at the Allen Priebe Art Gallery.

The exhibit “features the work of Japanese artists with foundations and formal training in printmaking. Although each of the participating artists’ personal work has transitioned over the years — and some is now more associated with other media — printmaking and the production of multiples remains at the core of their creative processes.”

Yates’ Oct. 18 lecture is followed by a public reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Priebe Gallery.

Redefining the Multiple” will be featured at the gallery through October 22.
