Author John Coy, center, hosts a two-day workshop with students during the Fox Valley Writing Project’s seventh-annual Young Writers’ Camps. The camps, which focus on developing writing skills, sharing ideas, interacting with authors and publishing student writing, were held in August at UW Oshkosh and Shattuck Middle School in Neenah. Scholarships were made possible by the College of Education and Human Services and the UW Oshkosh Foundation. Coy’s visit was co-sponsored by the Neenah Public Library and the Winnebago Literacy Council.

Patricia Scanlan, Fox Valley Writing Project director and associate professor in the reading education department, submitted this announcement. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
