A new club open to students, faculty, staff and members of the greater community is forming at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh; fire-breathing is not a prerequisite.

The UW Oshkosh Dragon Boat Club will hold its the first meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Aquatic Research Laboratory, 783 Pearl Ave.

The club will meet every Saturday during the summer and into the fall, culminating with the annual Fall Fest on the Fox, which includes Oshkosh Community Dragon Boat Race and Festival, Sept. 25 and 26.

UW Oshkosh acquired a dragon boat in fall 2008, which is available from May through October. The cost for joining the club is $25 for UW Oshkosh students and $50 for non-students, although anyone can join.
