Teachers and administrators are invited to explore the initial public draft of the Next Generation Science Standards on May 16 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. in Sage Hall room 2212.

The meeting will begin with brief overview comments from John Whitsett, Fond du Lac School District, and Eric Brunsell, UW Oshkosh assistant professor in science education. Both Whitsett and Brunsell serve on the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s Science Leadership Team.

The remainder of the meeting will be devoted to a facilitated examination of the standards draft, which will be released at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 11 at nextgenscience.org.

The meeting is hosted by the UWO Student NSTA Chapter with support from WSST and the College of Education and Human Services.
