The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host a free event to raise awareness about organ donation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18 at Kolf Sports Center, 785 High Ave.
The students have focused on living donation as a theme, partnering with BioLife and Be the Match, a bone marrow registry.
Erin Davisson, news anchor for WFRV-TV in Green Bay, will speaking at noon. Davisson received a life-saving liver transplant in 1990.
The event is carnival-themed with all of the games having to do with organs that can be donated. Everyone is eligible to win prizes contributed by local businesses and restaurants. Popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones will be provided at no charge.
The Organ Donation Awareness Carnival “The Giving Games” is a family-friendly event open to the public.
Julie Henderson, journalism professor, submitted this announcement. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
