University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Chancellor Richard Wells recognized three students who earned annual student employee honors during a ceremony on April 9.

This year’s winners include:

Student Employee of the Year, Carol Moore

Employed by the Department of Residence Life as a Community Development Specialist, Moore was nominated by Lori Develice Collins, assistant director of Residence Life for Leadership and Community Development.

As the CDS for Residence Life, Carol implemented several programs and initiatives geared toward second-year students.

Student of Employee of Distinction, James “Jimmy” Zarling

Employed by Gruenhagen Conference Center as a desk receptionist, Zarling was nominated by Marc Nylen, director of Gruenhagen.

In his role, Zarling “strives to warmly welcome the guests of GCC, and provide guidance on restaurants, and other local businesses that guests are interested in,” wrote Nylen in his nomination.

Student Employee of Distinction, Brianna Lorenzen

Employed by the Titan Center in Reeve Memorial Union as the Lead Student, Lorenzen was nominated by Assistant Director for Business and Retail Services.

Lorenzen was praised in her nomination for her reliability and quality of work during a time when the full-time manager position in the area was vacant.
