Disabilities Awareness Week takes place April 9-13 at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

All week on the Reeve Concourse, the multi-media exhibit Allies in Inclusion:  The Ability Exhibit, on loan from St. Louis University,will be on display. The exhibit is about the history of disability advocacy in the U.S. and information on advocacy and awareness.  More information can be found at their website:  http://www.slu.edu/x45782.xml This is the first time the exhibit will be hosted in Wisconsin.  It will be set up Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Also on campus:

  • Tuesday, April 10.  Individuals with Disabilities Town Hall, 5:00 p.m., Reeve 306. Students with disabilities will share their personal stories and experiences and discuss ways that everyone can become allies and advocates for disability-related issues and concerns.
  • Thursday, April 12.  Double the Trouble, Twice the Fun, 12 p.m., LGBTQ Resource Center. A short film that examines disability and homosexuality with discussion.
