The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh received a Merit Award in the 24th-annual Admissions Advertising Awards for its MyPlace admissions marketing materials.

The awards, sponsored by the Admissions Marketing Report, is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. More than 2,000 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries. A national panel of admissions marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals, and the editorial board of the Admissions Marketing Report served as judges for the competition.

UW Oshkosh is one of two UW System institutions to receive the 2008 honor.

The MyPlace package included the 2008 Admissions Viewbook, the 2009 Adult Nontraditional Student Guidebook, the Residence Life guidebook, computer science and theater major brochures and posters, and Academic Support Services brochures. The materials were created by Integrated Marketing and Communications in collaboration with Admissions, Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement, Residence Life, Computer Science, Theater and Student Support Services.
