The UW Oshkosh chapter of Democracy Matters has provided a voter guide for upcoming local elections.

The guide, displayed in Reeve Memorial Union Concourse, includes the backgrounds and stances of the candidates for Winnebago County Executive and Oshkosh Common Council. The primary for both elections is Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Democracy Matters encourages students to vote in local elections to ensure that representatives consider the importance of the University in the community when making decisions. This will be especially critical in April for the general election when voters will cast their ballots for the state Supreme Court race.

Democracy Matters is a national campus-based project of Common Cause with an overall goal of taking money out of politics. The Oshkosh chapter’s blog can be found at http://uwodm.blogspot.com.
