Now is the time to think about your financial aid for next year. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available to complete for the 2009-2010 school year at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

The FAFSA should be completed as soon as possible because it determines eligibility for federal and state grants, loans and work study.

To complete the FAFSA, students will need 2008 tax returns, Social Security Number, and Department of Education PIN.

Although there is no deadline to complete the FAFSA, UW Oshkosh has a priority filing date of March 15, 2009. Students who complete the form by this date have the best access to the more limited sources of financial aid.

UW Oshkosh Financial Aid Counselor Melody Williamson recommends that students file early. In order to receive financial aid, students must apply.” Although every degree-seeking student might not qualify for grants, they will qualify for federal loan programs.

For more information, contact the UW Oshkosh Financial Aid Office at (920) 424-3377 or fao@uwosh.edu. The office’s Web site is www.uwosh.edu/fin_aids.
