An essay written by Grace Lim, a journalism adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, has been published in The New York Times’ Well blog.

“When the Whole World Mumbles” (http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/12/10/when-the-whole-world-mumbles/) recounts Lim’s experiences with hearing loss and the purchase of hearing aids.

UW Oshkosh student Megan Sheridan took the photograph of Lim that accompanies the essay. Another of Sheridan’s photos appeared on The New York Times’ Web site in March, when fellow student Becky Thomas’s essay, “Life as a Tall Girl,” was published in the Well blog.

Lim previously has worked for the Miami Herald and People Magazine.
