University of Arizona assistant professor Stephanie Fryberg shares insights into how social stereotypes of American Indians have psychological consequences on all types of students Nov. 21 at Reeve Memorial Union. Fryberg said stereotypes are reflected and inscribed in almost every aspect of our society, creating an anxiety or “stereotype threat” that forces people to maintain the status quo. The presentation was organized by the UW Oshkosh Inter-Tribal Student Organization.
