Polk Library’s Archives and Area Research Center, along with the Wisconsin Historical Society, are presenting a workshop on genealogy research noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Reeve Memorial Union, 748 Algoma Blvd.

The program, “Hunting Your Ancestors,” is co-sponsored by the Fox Valley Genealogical Society, Winnebagoland Genealogical Society and the UW Oshkosh History Club.

With sessions on organizing your research, court records, land records, digital resources and “hidden” sources, the event is intended for both the seasoned family historian and newcomers to the nation’s most popular hobby.

The event will begin with a plenary lecture on the European immigration experience by UW Oshkosh’s own Michelle Kuhl. The program costs $35 for members of the aforementioned genealogical organizations and $45 for non-members.  This fee includes your lunch.

The deadline for advance registration is Nov. 3. Same day registrations also will be accepted but will not include lunch.

Visit www.wisconsinhistory.org/libraryarchives/classes for more information and registration. Forms also can be picked up and dropped off at University Archives, Room 334 in Polk Library.
