’80 Joel Claassen, of New Berlin, reached a major milestone as he recorded his 500th career win as coach of the Pius XI Catholic High School softball team.

’82 Jennifer (Trewyn) Hartlaub, of Shorewood, was awarded the 2025 Best Place to Care Career Award at Advocate Health. The award honors physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) with 20 or more years of experience who demonstrate excellence through innovation, mentorship and quality care, embodying Advocate Health’s Culture Commitments and advancing the medical profession. Hartlaub is an advanced practice director of professional excellence for Advocate Medical Group’s Wisconsin and Illinois Divisions and has over 30 years of nurse practitioner experience.
’83, ’96 (MSN) Terri (Bell) Vandenhouten, of Brussels, was awarded the 2025 Best Place to Care Career Award at Advocate Health. Vandenhouten is a family nurse practitioner with Advocate Aurora Health Care. She was part of the Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner Forum that worked for years to get the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Modernization Act passed.
’88 Kristofor Brown, of Pacific Palisades, California, is a writer for the show Beavis & Butt-Head and recently returned to UWO to share his expertise with current students.
’93 John Egan, of Appleton, is the director of brand communications for The Boldt Group. Egan oversees brand strategy and internal and external communications.

’95 Joe Gaerthofner, of Appleton, presented Appleton’s Call to Duty-Honoring Our Red Arrow Heroes in the Pacific War on behalf of the Appleton Historical Society. Gaerthofner works in sales at Nordon Business Environments, a local company started by his grandfather in 1957. He has a passion for history, particularly as it relates to Appleton and Wisconsin.
’95 Burke Griffin, of New Franken, is back on the air with WFRV-TV. Griffin has hosted Sunday Sports Extra, a weekly sports show, since 1999.
’96, ’07 (MSE) Mike Meunier, of Omro, is the principal at Winneconne Elementary School. Meunier previously served as assistant principal and dean of students within the Winneconne School District.
’98 Beth (Hinds) Oswald, of Oshkosh, retired chief executive officer of the Oshkosh Area United Way, was appointed to the Millwork Distributors, Inc. (MDI) Board of Directors. Oswald also serves on the Black Wolf Town Board and the Board of Appeals.
’02 Linsay (Post) Hohmann, of Peoria, Arizona, was named one of the 2026 Top Women Leaders of Arizona by Women We Admire. Hohmann is the senior vice president of policyholder services and support with CSAA Insurance Group. She has 17 years of insurance experience handling claims, underwriting and service.
’02, ’13 (GAP) Carolyn (Fink) Seidl, of Luxemburg, is a nurse practitioner with the Prevea Clinic in Luxemburg and Kewaunee. Seidl is also a clinical nurse practitioner instructor at Walden University.

’04 Andrew Selgrad, of Ripon, was named middle and high school assistant principal, athletics and activities director, and head football coach for the School District of Horicon. Selgrad has over 20 years of coaching experience and has received the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association/Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Year and Associated Press High School Football Coach of the Year Awards.

’08, ’20 (MBA) Sarah Schettle, of Rochester, Minnesota, was appointed director of heart failure in medial affairs at Abbott. Schettle is a physician assistant who previously worked with heart failure patients at Mayo Clinic.
’10 Sara Cardinal, of New Holstein, was named chief executive officer of Premier Credit Union. Cardinal has been with Premier since 2011 and was previously the chief lending officer.
’10 Eric Waite, of Beaver Dam, is vice president of business banking at Horicon Bank. Waite has over 14 years of banking experience with a strong background in business banking, credit analysis and relationship management.
’16 Elizabeth (Pessoa) Asselin, of Oshkosh, is the director of payroll, benefits and compensation at 4 Imprint where she started as a UWO student intern.
’17 Evan Freimuth, of Kaukauna, is the owner and founder of Venture Wisconsin, a business that sells guides and passports that allow customers to explore Wisconsin businesses at a discounted price.
’23, ’26 (DNP) Ciana Rose, of Tomahawk, is beginning a one-year psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner residency at the Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. The fellowship offers additional mentored clinical training, giving new practitioners time to develop their skills while working with complex patient cases across a range of psychiatric settings.
’23 Lawrence “LJ” Waco III, of Cary, Illinois, signed a free agent minor league contract with the Washington Nationals, becoming the first UWO player to sign with a Major League Baseball organization since 2015.
’24 Kayleigh Leahy, of Barneveld, is an art teacher at West Allis Central High School. Leahy, now in her third year with the district, was recognized by WTMJ-TV Milwaukee as an educator whose teaching style makes her students feel very comfortable and safe.
’25 Madison Grabow, of Grafton, is an elementary school teacher in the Random Lake School District.
’25 Adriana Laughrin, of Appleton, is a fifth-grade long-term substitute teacher in the Little Chute School District.
’25 Joshua Sheldon, of Monona, and ’26 Grace Tohm, of Hortonville, met when Tohm performed one of Sheldon’s student compositions in a freshman piano class. They have been a couple since 2024 and will soon reside in Madison.
’25 Michael Wetzel (MPA), of Milwaukee, is the City of Antigo Administrator. Wetzel was formerly the village clerk and deputy administrator for the Village of Marshall in Dane County.
