Dr. Manohar Singh becomes 12th Chancellor of UWO

UW-Oshkosh welcomed its next chapter of leadership in 2025.
Dr. Manohar Singh was named the 12th Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh bringing experience vision and a strong commitment to student success. His appointment marked an exciting new era for the university community.
More students chose UW-Oshkosh
Nearly 12,500 students joined UW-Oshkosh this fall learning on campus throughout Wisconsin and beyond. With first year retention up students are choosing UW-Oshkosh and finding a place where they belong.
Honors College continues its momentum
The Honors College kept its upward momentum in 2025 with enrollment up 2 percent following a record year of growth in 2024-25. UW-Oshkosh continues to attract high achieving students seeking challenge connection and academic excellence.
Transformational investment in Polk Library
One of the most significant campus investments in decades was finalized in 2025.
The 2025-27 state biennial budget includes $137.5 million to fully revitalize Polk Library into the future Polk Learning Commons. Located at the heart of campus this project will transform learning collaboration and student experience for generations to come.
No place like home: Titans return to their own track
After more than a decade, UW-Oshkosh track and field returned home in 2025 with the debut of a newly resurfaced Olympic caliber track at Titan Stadium at J.J. Keller Field. The $1.6 million project transformed the Oshkosh Sports Complex into a premier Midwest facility, giving Titans a world class place to train, compete and hold meets back on campus.
Freshwater research making waves
UW-Oshkosh strengthened its leadership in environmental research and hands on learning. The university is in line for up to $1.4 million in freshwater related grants supporting student research training and real world problem solving. Student researchers are already tackling water quality and plastic pollution challenges ahead of national research showcases.
UWO adds women’s flag football to roster
Touchdown Titans. UW-Oshkosh announced the launch of women’s flag football with competition beginning as soon as spring 2026. As the second UW university to offer the sport at the varsity level the program aligns with the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women initiative and a growing national movement.
Kolf Sports Center gets a new look
A massive 6,400 square foot graphic wrap transformed the berms of Kolf Sports Center into a bold celebration of Titan athletics and creativity. Through a partnership with Discover Oshkosh the project also spotlighted an alumnus whose artistic journey began right here at UW-Oshkosh making it a true homecoming story woven into campus life.
Leading the way in artificial intelligence
Through the AI Trailblazers initiative UW-Oshkosh took a bold cross campus approach to artificial intelligence.
Faculty across business nursing education computer science and more are integrating AI into teaching research and practice.
The goal is clear. Prepare students to lead confidently in an AI driven future.
A national leader for men in nursing
For the ninth time UW-Oshkosh earned national recognition as one of the best schools for men in nursing. The distinction reflects the strength inclusivity and impact of the College of Nursing and its commitment to preparing compassionate skilled healthcare professionals.
National volleyball champions take the court
The Titans made history in 2025.
UW-Oshkosh Women’s Volleyball completed a flawless NCAA Championship run earning the program’s first perfect title season since 2004. It was a championship defined by teamwork resilience and Titan grit.
Honoring the Class of 2025
Graduation season was one to celebrate. Nearly 1,750 students earned their degrees this year through midyear and spring commencement ceremonies at Kolf Sports Center. From associate degrees to doctorates Titans launched into their next chapter ready to lead.
More graduates staying in Wisconsin
The Titan impact continues after graduation. Ninety percent of Wisconsin resident graduates are staying in state and 40 percent of non-resident alumni are choosing to build their lives and careers here, strengthening communities across Wisconsin and the region.
What’s next?
2026 is calling, and Titans are ready. More sports, more innovation, more ways to lead and thrive. If 2025 was this good, imagine what’s coming next.
