The UW–Oshkosh campus community turned out in a big way Wednesday to welcome incoming Chancellor Manohar Singh on his second official day on the job.

An open house in the Chancellor’s Office allowed faculty and staff members a chance to meet Dr. Singh, who, in short remarks, said the opportunity to lead UWO is a great honor. Succeeding outgoing Chancellor Andrew Leavitt, Singh officially became UWO’s 12th chancellor on July 1.

“As a first-generation college graduate, Manohar Singh believes in the power of higher education to improve lives and is a collaborative leader who builds consensus,” Jay Rothman, president of the Universities of Wisconsin, said as Singh’s selection was announced in April.
