In the latest segment of UWO Now, host Wendell Ray explores digital currency known as cryptocurrency.
“We all understand dollars and cents. It is currency,” Ray said. “Stuff you can touch, feel, exchange. For about 15 years there has been another currency—cryptocurrency—it emerged and remains to this day. It is also remaining to be elusive for many. Here, to explain block chains, cryptocurrency and the most famous cryptocurrency—Bitcoin—is Steven Schilhabel, an assistant professor of Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business.”
UWO Now, a biweekly radio show and podcast, highlights University of Wisconsin Oshkosh faculty, staff, students and alumni as they dig deep into today’s relevant issues from fighting food insecurity to sustainability at home and on campus, to the ways we use our phones can hurt our ability to connect with others.
UWO Now is available on Apple, Google, Spotify, Amazon and YouTube. Episodes also air at 5:30 p.m. Friday on 90.3 WRST-FM.
