The University of Wisconsin System recently surveyed students regarding their knowledge of and viewpoints about free speech and the First Amendment.

In the first episode of UWO Now Season 2, host Wendell Ray unpacks the survey results and discusses other First Amendment issues with Tony Palmeri, UW Oshkosh communications studies professor.

UWO Now, a biweekly radio show and podcast, is a collaboration between WRST and University Communications. In Season 2, Ray also will talk with UW Oshkosh alumni faculty, staff and students about today’s trending topics and relevant issues, including immigration, sustainability and emerging technology.

Following each radio broadcast, extended versions of the conversations will be available as podcast episodes on a number of platforms, including Apple, Google, Spotify, TuneIn and iHeartRadio. In addition, episodes are available to watch on UWO’s YouTube channel.

An award-winning broadcast journalist, Ray teaches radio courses for UWO’s radio TV film department in addition to overseeing operations of WRST, the student-managed campus radio station, which is part of Wisconsin Public Radio’s Ideas Network.
