’60 Judy (Perdue) VanMatre (EHS) has been a travel consultant at the Racine County Convention and Visitors Bureau Visitor Center for seven years. 9-1-08.

’69  Stan Mathes (EHS) and ’73 (MSE) of Fond du Lac was ranked first in the world in the 800 meters in 2006 and 2007, in age group 60-64, according to Masterstrack.com. 9-1-08.

’69 Wendy (Davis) Weiss (EHS) retired as the teacher of 4-year-old kindergarten at Fremont Elementary School. 9-1-08.

’70 Martha (Sheerar) McGregor (EHS) and ’73 (MST), a researcher in pathobiological sciences at the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, received the UW Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in research , critical research support. 9-1-08.

’71 William Bomber (EHS) of New Lisbon retired as principal of Mauston High School. 9-1-08.

’74 Steve Harman (LS) retired after 32 years in his position as director of human resources and labor relations for the City of Livermore, Calif.  He now joined ADHR Consulting, a California based human resource management consulting firm. 9-1-08.

’75 Carl Paradise (MSE) recently retired as Lodi Primary School principal.

’80 Jess Haupt (B) of Texas, and his wife Brenda, recently started another business, Buna Bean Coffee. It is a coffee roasting company selling primarily to local restaurants and on the internet. 9-1-08.

’80 Edward Hughes (LS) will be director of the Rhinelander District Library starting September 2nd. 9-1-08.

’82 Deirdre (Berner) Watts (LS) was promoted from program coordinator to the director of the center for economic education at UW-Oshkosh. 9-1-08.

’83 Todd Mishler (LS) of Janesville has been named editor and publisher of BadgerStatePreps.com and BrewersInsiders.com, which belong to the Scout/FoxSports network of Web sites. 9-1-08.

’84 Mike Boehm (B) has accepted the position of manager, HR systems with Greenheck of Schofield. 9-1-08.

’88 Major Ted A. Wahoske (B) assumed command of the 7th Comptroller Squadron, 7th Bomb Wing, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, on June 23rd. 9-1-08.

’89 Brad Hansen (LS) of Appleton is filling the new position of president and chief operating officer at Heartland Business Systems and Avastone Technologies.

’89 Brad Karger (MPA) is the county administrator for Marathon County. 9-1-08.

’89 Tim Koppa (EHS) is in his third year directing the Koppa-Hein Tennis Academy in Grafton.  They recently implemented ‘quick-start’ tennis for four to six year olds using sponge-like balls and a smaller net.  9-1-08.

’91 Dave Powers (B) joined the volunteer Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rock, Walworth, and Jefferson counties. 9-1-08.

’92 Kurt Krueger (LS) is the editor of the Vilas County News-Review and The Three Lakes News and has helped win over 120 state and national awards. 9-1-08.

’93 Jonathan Bullock (MBA) has been chosen for the newly created role of vice president of strategic advancement at Moraine Park Technical College. 9-1-08.

’94 Tricia Betthauser (EHS) and ’06 (MS) was the lead instructor for the first annual Tomah Youth Basketball Camp. Her passion for the game carries on into her position as the head varsity girls coach at Adlai Stevenson III High School in Lincolnshire, Ill. 9-1-08.

’97 Nicole (Skruby) Danke (LS) of Winneconne was promoted to senior financial adviser for M&I Wealth Management. 9-1-08.

’98 Melanie (Harring) Marine and husband, Chad, welcomed their second son, Colton on Aug. 2, 2008.  Their other son, Nathan, was born on the same date in 2006!

’98 Tom Maurer (MBA) of Menasha was recently named director of Schenck Technology Solutions a part of Schenck Business Solutions and provides installation, training and support for many of today’s top business accounting software products.

’99 Kory Collier (LS) recently graduated from the Air Traffic Control Operations Apprentice Course at Keesler Air Force Base in Miss. 9-1-08.

’99 Teri (Kemppainen) McKean (LS) graduated in May 2008 with her Masters of Social Work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her husband, Jason McKean 00 (EHS) recently accepted a position with the University of Illinois Housing Department as an area coordinator.

’99 Vj Brad Zibung (LS) of Chicago, was recently promoted to senior regional manager of StubHub.com’s LMT Inc. group, which is owned by eBay. He continues to run the satirical sports publication, The Heckler/TheHeckler.com which recently began its sixth year. 9-1-08.

’00 Adrienne (Volz) Schneider (EHS) is the principal of MacArthur Elementary School in Germantown. 9-1-08.

’01 Lewis Pagel (LS) has moved to the Alaskan Arctic to practice chiropractic in an Eskimo village. 9-1-08.

’02 Brian Burmeister (MPA) of Menasha is the new senior vice president of physician services at ThedaCare. 9-1-08.

’02 Mary (Evens) von der Ehe (LS) and ‘08 (MBA) married Jim von der Ehe on July 12 in Waukesha. 9-1-08.

’03 Joanna McKasy (LS) and ’06 (EHS) a middle school science teacher in La Belle, Fla., recently joined the board of directors on CRCA RiverWatch, an organization that promotes sustainable river/water issues through southwest Florida. 9-1-08.

’03 Jerry Schuetz (MPA) is the new police chief for the Milton Police Department.

’04 Jeremy Johnston (LS) of Crystal, Minn. married Heidi on May 31st. He is also enrolled at Bethel Seminary obtaining a Masters in Divinity. 9-1-08.

’05 Elizabeth Mayes (LS) works for the mental health department of Washington County Human Services and plans to go back to school for her masters next year. 9-1-08.

’05 David Shamsi (LS) recently returned to Texas after serving 15 months on the 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry in Iraq.  9-1-08.

’06 Dawn Rost (MBA) is the senior financial analyst for Lawrence University. 9-1-08.

’07 Amanda (Wolf) Olsen (LS) and Joseph Olsen ’08 (LS) were married in June. She is starting the Physician Associate program through YALE Medical School.  Joseph is doing research in the PET (Positron Emission Tomography) Lab for the Chemistry Department at YALE. 9-1-08.

’07 Lauren Raupp (LS) is a legal assistant for a personal injury and medical malpractice law firm in downtown Chicago. She is preparing to apply for law school in fall of 2009. 9-1-08.

’07 Drew Ritchie (LS) graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. 9-1-08.

’07 Heidi Vandeslunt (LS) and (EHS) will be a .75 math/reading teacher in Mayville for the 2008-2009 school year.  She and her husband, Scott Vandeslunt ’02 (LS) live in Fond du Lac. 9-1-08.
