A University of Wisconsin Oshkosh alumnus with a strong commitment to community development will be honored Friday as part of the College of Business Honors and Awards Ceremony.

Rob Kleman was selected by a committee of COB faculty and alumni to receive the 2023 UW Oshkosh College of Business Outstanding Alumni Award. He joins 40 students being honored for their successes as well as faculty and community partners in a ceremony from 3 to 4:40 p.m. Friday in Reeve Memorial Union Ballroom.

Outstanding alumni

Kleman serves as president and CEO for the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, leading a staff of 11 with a budget of $1.5 million and 905 Chamber members. He has been involved in various professional organizations and community activities, including past president of the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Economic Partnership and Wisconsin Economic Development Association.

“I cannot think of another individual in the Oshkosh area who is more committed to engagement and development of our community,” said Elizabeth Hartman, UWO compliance officer and COB lecturer. “Rob has dedicated his professional career to economic and community development, leading Oshkosh Area Economic Development Corporation and now with his recent appointment as CEO of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce. I am excited to see where Rob takes his new role, and our community, in the future.”

Kleman earned a bachelor’s degree in  business administration  in 1987, majoring in marketing and with a minor in management information systems.

Senior human resources major Rebecca Ashauer, earns a Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for her exceptional record of leadership and service throughout campus and the community.
