Order of Omega, the UW Oshkosh Greek Honor Society, is conducting a School Supply Drive for Webster Stanley and Emmeline Cook Elementary Schools on April 18-29.

We chose Webster Stanley and Emmeline Cook Elementary Schools because these are two schools in the Oshkosh area that are in need. About 10-25 percent of students that come to these schools have no school supplies, and 50 percent of students don’t have all the necessary supplies at the start of the school year.

Though the supplies might be lacking, the teachers of these schools truly have hearts of gold. These teachers are driven individuals who want nothing but the best for their students. In all honesty, accomplishing “the best” for their students is becoming harder every day though due to things such as the budget cuts.

Having these school supplies is a must for a student’s continuing education. It’s hard to believe that a box of crayons can open up a student’s creative mind and can, in result, create a masterpiece. We would love for University of Wisconsin Oshkosh faculty and staff to be a part of this meaningful and impactful cause.

The supplies needed are:

  • Boxes of 24 Crayola crayons
  • Large pink erasers
  • Set of 12 colored pencils
  • Ballpoint pens (red, blue, black)
  • Boxes of 8 washable markers (wide or thin)
  • Rulers (with a metric side)
  • No. 2 sharpened pencils
  • Post-it notes
  • Elmer’s glue bottles
  • Fiskar’s kid’s scissors
  • Regular pocket folders
  • Wide-rule, 1-subject notebooks
  • Composition notebooks
  • Black Sharpie markers
  • Dry erase markers
  • Highlighters
  • Elmer’s glue sticks
  • Kleenex

However, all school supplies are gladly accepted.

Please join with us and become a part of a life changing act of kindness. Education is the key in any child’s success as an
individual. These elementary schools need our help, and as teachers we know that you can relate with the dire need of supplies. Help us to make this an easier task to accomplish, not only for the children, but for the hard working teachers as well.
