The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is among the 10 best employers in the state. And that’s not me—a UW Oshkosh employee—making the claim. That’s coming from a newly published list of America’s best employers by Forbes.
Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to compile this fourth annual list, which was created from an anonymous survey of 70,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees.
UWO came in at No. 9 in Wisconsin, ahead of companies like Marriott International, Hilton and UnitedHealth Group. The University also ranked as No. 3 in the state among higher education institutions.
Shawna Kuether, associate vice chancellor of human resources, equal opportunity, equity and affirmative action, said the recognition is an excellent reminder that UWO is a great place to work.
“It’s a place where employees are valued for their contributions and empowered to innovate and cultivate an environment of academic success for our students,” she said. “I believe this also reflects the fact that we are a community of professionals that respect each other and believe in open communication and transparency, which makes us an employer of choice for individuals who value these attributes.”
