The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will host a Zoom discussion Wednesday, May 11 about how organizations responded to and recovered from the impacts of COVID-19.

The final Whitburn Wednesday event of the 2021-2022 academic year will consider leadership development, human resource policy, employee morale, equity, managing through change and the importance of self-care related to how community leaders dealt with the impact of the pandemic.

The discussion, moderated by UWO Whitburn Center for Governance and Policy Research Director Michael Ford, will take place from 5 to 7 p.m.

Panelists include:

  • Benjamin Krumenauer, administrator of Osceola, has expertise in community development, infrastructure planning, financial management and capital budgeting.
  • Emily McFarland, mayor of Watertown, believes in giving more than we take and is committed to giving the next generation a better version of the the city than exists today.
  • Mark Rohloff, city manager of Oshkosh, has experience in local government management in areas as diverse as finance, economic development and organizational development.
  • Katharine Schlieve, city administrator and economic development director for Waupun, is responsible for providing strategic leadership and working with a diverse set of stakeholders to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies that advance the city’s mission.

The Whitburn Wednesdays monthly event series covers a wide range of pressing issues and features panelists representing a diversity of viewpoints. Events occur on the second Wednesday of each month during the academic year, both in-person and/or online.
