After more than 20 years, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is again offering a composition emphasis for its music majors. Thanks to accreditation granted by the National Association of Schools of Music in June, students can begin working toward a composition emphasis this fall.

“The new composition emphasis will complement well the strong performance and liberal arts emphases the department has offered for many years,” said Charles Isaacson, chair of the music department.

The music department had discontinued its composition emphasis in 1985.
