HOMECOMING: UWO celebrated its 100th anniversary of Homecoming in October. The weekend included Titan Tailgate, Family Day and wins by both the football and women’s soccer teams at Titan Stadium.
UW SYSTEM BOARD OF REGENTS MEETING: The Oshkosh campus hosted the UW System Board of Regents for its two-day October meeting. When addressing the group, UWO Chancellor Andy Leavitt stressed the significance of “affordable and accessible” higher education.
TITAN TRIVIA NIGHT: Fifth Ward Brewing Co. in Oshkosh hosted a night of University trivia as part of the yearlong sesquicentennial celebration.
GOLDEN TITAN REUNION: Members of the classes of 1970 and 1971 were honored at a September lunch event in celebration of the 50th anniversary of their graduation.
HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH KICKOFF: Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month, and students gathered on the Horizon Village amphitheater lawn at its start for food and dancing.
TASTE OF UW OSHKOSH: The new school year began with student organizations, University departments, volunteer agencies and more presenting new opportunities to students on the Oshkosh campus. UW System Interim President Tommy Thompson even stopped by.
FOND DU LAC FALL FEST AND FOX CITIES FALL PICNIC: Students on the UW Oshkosh access campuses welcomed the start of the fall semester with food, games and other fun.
TITAN ALUMNI NIGHT AT THE TIMBER RATTLERS: UWO alumni enjoyed a night together at the ballpark in July. The evening at Fox Cities Stadium included a buffet and one lucky Titan throwing out the first pitch.
FOND DU LAC CAMPUS SCHOLAR AND DONOR RECEPTION: A September reception at the UW Oshkosh, Fond du Lac campus helped honor 32 students who earned nearly $45,000 in scholarship funds and the donors who are providing support.
SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMUNITY CELEBRATION: For the pinnacle of the sesquicentennial year, the University welcomed a few thousand guests to the Oshkosh campus on a Sunday afternoon for music, food, beverages, games and more. The celebration toasted the 150th anniversary of the first day of classes.
ALUMNI AWARDS CELEBRATION: Another highlight of Homecoming weekend was the honoring of 11 outstanding alumni. Jerry Gonyo ‘64, was among them as the inaugural Alumni Outstanding Service Award recipient.
