UW Oshkosh Sustainability Academics and Research

At UW Oshkosh, sustainability is not just about conserving energy and water. It is the goal of faculty, staff, administrators, and community members to incorporate sustainability as part of every individual’s education, through formal courses as well as informal teaching opportunities.

Community Resources:  Not only is UW Oshkosh a leader in sustainability, but the greater Oshkosh area also has an emergent and dynamic collection of government and private groups committed to creating a resilient and sustainable region and state.  The websites of these organizations provide information about the work they do and may serve as resources for students seeking off-campus information or opportunities.

Grant funds for Students

Since 2015 the  Student Green Fund has been providing $60,000  annually (~$3/student/semester) for students to create a legacy of sustainability on campus through building infrastructure, upgrading and efficiency measures, educational campaigns, innovation and technology pursuits, guest lectures, and more. The Green Fund is meant to empower students with the financial means to use their education to be bold champions for sustainability in the UW Oshkosh community and to advance the Campus Sustainability Plan. The fund is pooled from segregated fees to provide these opportunities to students.
