Scholarships
Scholarships are gifts of money that do not need to be repaid, provided the enrollment period is completed.
Students should first search for a scholarship, then choose a program that fits the scholarship funding criteria. Some scholarships listed below may not be specifically for study abroad, but award committees often allow you to use a scholarship toward study abroad – always ask!
EXTERNAL ORGANIZATION SCHOLARSHIPS
UWO and UWO Partner Awards
- UWO Academic Works – searchable scholarship database. Please note: some of these can be used for off-campus study even if the scholarship itself isn’t specifically for off-campus study – always ask if you see potential
- Arthur Chapple Scholarship (for History or International Studies students)
- Muriel Hawkins Award (study abroad-specific)
- Kerrigan Scholarship (must have between 24-45 credits to apply; awards are made in fall for following spring; not specifically for off-campus study, but it’s allowable)
- Honors College student Scholarships
- Golden Key International Honor Society (available to members only)
