Spinning a Pill
Description
A provocative health documentary, this program investigation takes a closer look at Yasmin, a controversial oral contraceptive that has become a top-selling birth control pill. In the United States more than 4,000 women have taken legal action against the manufacturer, Bayer, and more than 800 in Canada have joined a class-action lawsuit. CBC reporter Erica Johnson meets young women who have taken Yasmin or its sister drug Yaz and experienced serious health problems, and asks why so many others are unaware of the health risks associated with these pills.
