1942/1943-Truth and Total War
Description
By 1943, the tide is changing and Germany and Japan will have to change their messaging accordingly to reflect a new emerging reality. Truth and Total War explores how "total war" proves to be a major turning point for all combatants and how the stories told on all sides have to be adjusted. For the British and Canadians, an attempt to create some good news for the Allies by raiding the French seaside town of Dieppe, turns into a terrible failure. In Nazi-occupied France a brutal roundup of Jewish families sends a shiver through French society. On the Russian front, the German Army is forced to surrender at Stalingrad for the first time in the war. For propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels it's time for a new campaign.
