Description
In this Horizon program, three expert female presenters explore the transit of Venus, a rare astronomical event occurring most recently in June 2012. Solar physicist Dr Lucie Green charts the story of Captain James Cook's 1769 voyage to scientifically record the transit of Venus for the first time; oceanographer Dr Helen Czerski looks at the different paths Venus and Earth have taken; and biologist Liz Bonnin finds out how Venus is transforming our understanding of the extremes of life on our planet.
