Into The Altiplano. Sea Kayaking Argentina, Bolivia & Chile. 2
Description
Starting on the ocean at Antofagasta, Chile, we pulled and paddled our kayaks across northern Chile and into Argentina. Part 2 of our Altiplano adventure begins on the largest lake in northern Argentina - Lago Vilama - which surprised us by being just a few inches deep.We visited the exhausted silver mine at Potosi, Bolivia, and the salt beds of Solar de Uyuni. Our kayaks crossed the red Lago Colorado before we left Bolivia for Chile where we were permitted to kayak the flamingo reserve at beautiful Lago Verde. Our trip ended with the ascent of Volcan Licancabur for views of the Andean Plateau, with its deserts, volcanoes, colorful lakes and salt beds.
