Lyme Disease
Description
Lyme disease is an infectious disease caused by the microscopic bacteria that is carried by ticks. Trevor Shorb was a star high school lacrosse player when Lyme disease stopped him in his tracks and kept him on the bench for a few years. Most cases of Lyme disease can be effectively treated with antibiotics; however, late diagnosis can lead to complications such as arthritis and autoimmune conditions.
