The Smiths. Collector's Set. Part 2

Description

A gray shadow was cast across the British landscape during the 1980s, as the political elite sought to condemn a nation from within. In 1982 however, salvation came from young Manchester band The Smiths, and a songwriting partnership that would go on to rival the finest. Based on the songwriting partnership of vocalist Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr, the band also included bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. Critics have called them the most important alternative rock band to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s. Their career was tragically short-lived, and just four albums later, in 1987, they acrimoniously split. Their legacy was already assured however, and to this day they remain one of the most iconic groups of all time. Part two of the series The Smiths: Collector's Set.
