Planet of the Apes. Globe Trekker
Description
This Globe Trekker Special is all about our fellow primates: lemurs, monkeys, and apes. Conservationists Ian Wright, Megan McCormick, Justine Shapiro, Zoe Palmer, Holly Morris, Eils Nevitt, Nikki Grosse, and Zay Harding travel across Africa, Asia, and South America, visiting the last strongholds of many rare and endangered species. These conservationists will travel to such fascinating locations as Thailand, Borneo, Sumatra, Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, Madagascar, and Cameroon to meet some incredible species - the white-handed gibbon, the orangutan, the chimpanzee, the mountain gorilla, the golden bamboo lemur, the black-crowned dwarf marmoset, the baboon, the macaque, the drill, and the mandrill. The cutting down of rainforests, the bushmeat trade, and the pet trade all threaten the survival of numerous species. Join these conservationists as they work to save our closest animal relatives from extinction.
