Breaking the Wall of Unpunctuality
Description
Achieving targets such as high punctuality and short delivery times in a world of constant change is one key challenge in logistics research. This video from the 2010 Falling Walls Conference features Katja Windt's lecture on the common imbalance between load and capacity. With an academic and professional career reaching from Bremen and Hanover in Germany to France and the U.S., Windt has been awarded the Alfried Krupp Prize for Young University Teachers in 2008 and named Professor of the Year 2008 by the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers. Katja Windt aims to address key limitations of logistics, especially a growing number of product variants, demand variations, and networked processes.
