In the Spirit of the Game. Sports Conduct and Fair Play
Description
Winning is a great feeling, but there are other goals to strive for when playing sports. Fair play and professional behavior not only make athletics enjoyable for everyone but are also achievements in themselves. This program examines and promotes good sportsmanship, focusing on what it means to be a team player as well as the admirable quality of remaining gracious in victory or defeat. It also looks at codes of conduct for players, officials, coaches, and spectators. Using practical examples, the video shows ways to resolve conflicts that often crop up in competitive sports. Experts include professional soccer player Mate Dugandzic, Australian basketball star Daniel Dillon, rugby referee Natalie Amor, soccer referee Wilson Brown, and international rugby referee Nigel Owens.
