Balancing the Body. Nutrition and Exercise
Description
Over the course of a long and productive life, Moshe Feldenkrais developed groundbreaking body-movement techniques that continue to help people today-from those who want to reduce arthritis pain to patients struggling with severe car-crash injuries. Still widely practiced over 20 years after its founder's death, the Feldenkrais method offers a fascinating conceptual framework that will draw viewers into this film. Nevertheless, it is only one of several avenues to recovery and renewal presented here. Other scenes feature a practical demonstration of yoga techniques by an acknowledged master, group sessions of chi gong exercises in China, and a helpful exploration of acupuncture. Dietary approaches to medicine are also shown, including a biomedical (as opposed to psychological) take on anorexia and a nutritional strategy for treating scleriderma.
