Loisirs et Fetes. Holidays and Celebrations
Description
In this program, everyday people talk about widespread religious and secular holidays in Quebec, Senegal, and Guadeloupe and how some of them are observed, while a couple reminisce about their own very personal celebration: their wedding. The video also gives special attention to National Day in Senegal, and what life was like there before that country gained its independence from France, and to winter carnivals in Quebec: lavish in Quebec City and down-to-earth on the ice-locked Isle-aux-Grues. A BBC Production.
