Bill Moyers Journal
Description
Although the Dow is up, Americans still face rising unemployment, declining property values, and foreclosures. In this edition of the Journal, Bill Moyers assesses the state of America’s economic recovery with renowned economist James K. Galbraith, of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. A discussion with National Review senior editor Richard Brookhiser about his mentor William F. Buckley, Jr., and today’s conservative movement follows. The program concludes with an essay asking politicians and citizens alike to face up to the reality of the increasing sacrifices required by an escalating war in Afghanistan—or to find the courage to say “Enough!” and bring the troops home.
