Description
The study of American homes is an architectural tour through time. This video shows examples of a variety of influential housing styles from the 1800s to today. Featured styles include Georgian and Dutch colonial, French, Spanish, neo-Classical, Tudor, Victorian, Cape Cod, brownstone, prairie, craftsman, ranch, multilevel, split-entry, international, contemporary, and eclectic. A mix of basic and intermediate architectural terms such as gable, hip roof, dormer, quoin, bay window, frieze, cornice, and broken pediment are defined. Correlates to all applicable National and State Educational Standards including the NCLB Act.
