Harlem Globetrotters Play a Game at Madison Square Garden ca. 1958
Description
As the most famous African-American basketball team in America, the Harlem Globetrotters played a series of games against nominal opponents to showcase their trick-shots and comic skills. The team lost some of its better players when black athletes were allowed to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1950, but it continued to stage worldwide exhibitions.
