Ernesto Sabato. Conflict of ideas
Description
This program traces the dramatic and circuitous life journey of physicist turned novelist and literary critic Ernesto Sabato. His early Communist affiliation, his research in the Universidad Nacional de la Plata and at the Curie Laboratory in Paris, and his eventual abandonment of science on anti-totalitarian grounds are all set against the backdrops of war, revolution, and cultural upheaval. With keen insight into the subtlety and variety of Sabato's endeavors, the video studies examples of his extraordinary literary accomplishment and explores his political contribution as the head of Argentina's National Commission on the Disappearance of People.
