This program follows the continuing decline of Spanish influence during Charles the Bewitched's life-and the War of the Spanish Succession that broke out upon his death. The Peace of Utrecht, which marked the triumph of balance of power over hereditary rights of rule, is addressed as well. Dramatizations, artwork, and visits to important locales bring this period to life.
