Radiation therapy
Description
Although diagnostic radiologic fields are good at detecting cancer, radiation therapy can actually help stop it. In this program, filmed at La Grange Memorial Hospital's Treatment Pavilion, five radiation experts demonstrate how a radiation therapy team works as they treat a young man with abdominal cancer. By watching the oncologist, clinical physicist, dosimetrist, and radiation therapists develop a comprehensive treatment plan, students will gain an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to work in this field.
