Suzanne Valadon & Maurice Utrillo—The Greatest Painters of the World
Description
Suzanne Valadon learned painting while observing Toulouse-Lautrec and Renoir, for whom she would model. She painted still lives, bouquets, landscapes and nudes, all showing a remarkable strength of composition and vibrant colors. Maurice Utrillo was Valadon’s son. A representative of the Paris School, his work features landscapes with houses and villages. His work is divided into three periods: the Montmagny period (for the village that inspired his paintings); the White Period (in which white shapes and tones predominate; and the Colored period (featuring lively and joyful tones).
