Maurice de Vlaminck—The Greatest Painters of the World
Description
Maurice de Vlaminck was one of the principal figures of Fauvism. More interested in the spatial and affective qualities of color, he is known for his use of very pure colors and swirls of pigment. Traumatized by the war, Vlaminck abandoned his colorful explosions and began painting tormented landscapes in sober tones, which characterized his new, obscure style.
