Paul Signac was a French landscape painter, who pioneered Pointillism and Divisionism, along with Seurat. A self-taught painter, he began painting in 1882 in Montmartre, Paris, and later formed the group “Scientific Impressionists” with Seurat and Pissarro. His paintings are known for their luminous color and spontaneous air.
