Joel Solomon. Building a Regenerative Economy with Clean Money
Description
This episode of The Green Interview features philanthropist and author Joel Solomon. In his new book, The Clean Money Revolution, Solomon observes that over the next 30 years, in the largest transfer of wealth in history, affluent baby boomers will pass $100 trillion dollars to their children. The inheritors are already demanding clean food, clean water, clean energy and as this wave of inherited capital meets the green mega-trend, says Solomon, “the possibilities for building a regenerative economy are dazzling and inspiring.” For more than three decades, Solomon has been at the center of a group of innovative organizations, private businesses, not-for-profits, foundations, educational institutions, deploying millions of dollars to transform his adopted home of British Columbia. He says, “clean money” is money that is aligned with a purpose beyond self-interest, money that makes the world better, money that builds true security, long term safe, fair, resilient. Clean money is about love, and it arises from our collective caring for each other and this planet.
