Partition, Episode 4

Description

2017 marks the 70th anniversary of the Partition of India, one of the largest migrations in modern history, characterized by brutal violence that continues to scar the South Asian subcontinent to this day. We document the personal stories of the people separated by the partition and the people who are determined to keep the two countries on the verge of war. To understand the distrust between these two nations, we look at the relationship between Mohammed Ali Jinnah, the secular Muslim who would lead Pakistan, and his nemesis Mohandas Gandhi, the devout Hindu celebrated as the father of independent India.
